External hard drives are very useful because of their portability. It helps us to transfer/ borrow large data without a computer and especially for any business employee with large or time-sensitive files.

As most of the time, we store our sensitive data on an external hard drive, We need to put a password and encrypt the data for safety. To encrypt the data and make it password protected we can use some encryption software likeTrueCrypt, AxCrypt or StorageCrypt.

  1. This software will help you to encrypt and create a hidden volume. Also, it will create a password to access the data available in your external drive.

  2. All these tools have many useful features and to get that plugin the external device to a computer.

  3. select the device location and encrypt the data.

  4. Finally, create a password to access the data.

This is a very simple process to make your external hard drive password protected.
