Switch Off Background Apps in Windows 10 to Boost Performance

Arsen Karapetyan

This trick will make any computer run faster.

As my computer is sitting and not doing anything, it is using up about 42% of my memory and 23% of my CPU.

And here is how to disable background apps in Windows 10:

  1. Go to your search bar and type "Privacy settings"
  2. Click on "Privacy Settings"
  3. Scroll to "Background apps" and click on it
  4. Out comes a list of mostly useless applications that you can disable
  5. Click the toggle and disable the unnecessary background apps

If left alone, Windows will allow these apps to run in the background.

The only one that I use is the "My phone" app.

Trust me, 99% of you will not use 99% of these applications. So, go ahead and turn off the toggle.

As I have toggled most of the apps off, my computer freed up 1-2 GB of memory from the RAM.

Feel free to watch the video and let me know what tips you want to see me cover.
